Dear Me in 5 years…
Dear me,
I hope you are doing well. Five years back, I asked you to follow some really important things. I thought of writing to you for verifying whether you are following what I asked you to . Well, firstly I asked you to be confident in yourself, in who you are, whichever outfit you wear, wherever you go, I hope your confidence is on fleek. Because confidence is the best outfit one can wear. I know you used to be a nervous wreck. The thought of meeting new people and the stage fear, I know you were embarrassed and humiliated many a times. But I believe in you that you must have overcome your fears and have learnt from your mistakes and I believe you to be the most confident person in the room.
Secondly, I asked you not to be an emotional fool. Did you remember getting affected by every single thing on a daily basis? You used to overthink the entire day for those petty things that barely matter. You used to be so vulnerable but I asked you to not be a prisoner of your emotions because sometimes you just need to let go, sit back and just relax. If you would invest your time and energy into every single thing, you would waste precious moments of life which you could rather spend with yourselves or your friends and family. I hope you are being rational and taking practical decisions in life.
Thirdly, I asked you to be financially independent. You are very well accustomed of the scenario of women who are financially dependent on their husbands or brothers or anyone along the lines. So, I hope you are independent and are making your parents proud of yourself. I hope you have proved that you are capable of doing everything.
Another thing I asked you to follow is maintaining your health. So did you follow that? I know you must have. I asked you to stay fit and healthy not in terms of being skinny or size zero but in terms of eating healthy , taking out time in your daily routine for working out and most importantly drinking lots of water. In the past, you have made lot of mistakes in this regard. But I know very well that you have completely realized your mistakes and you must be living a healthy life. You used to eat all those junks every other day and you barely used to eat fruits. But you know what? I am really proud of you for giving up all those junks and accepting a healthy life. Giving up those junk foods which you used to consume every other day is not an easy task and is really commendable that you were able to do so. Your weight loss journey has been really tough but I am glad that you made it and you are leading a healthy life now. Remember one thing, you can achieve anything if your health is good. So, never stop following a healthy lifestyle.
Lastly, I just want you to be a strong person who believes in oneself. It’s okay to make mistakes but make sure you learn from those mistakes and never repeat them again. You must have become wiser, but always remember the obstacles, the struggles, the mistakes that broke you one day, but today, are the reasons that made you a strong person. Make sure to work really hard and excel in whichever field you are, wherever you are. Be courageous! Keep following these things. I am always there with you. Take care and live the life that you always wanted to.
